Teachers Play a Pivotal Role in the Effective Implementation of NEP-2020: MDU VC Prof. Milap Punia

Rohtak, July 21, 2026: An eight-day NEP Orientation and Sensitization program, organized jointly by MDU and Saraswati Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Palwal under the Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Program (MMTTP), was launched online on Tuesday.
While inaugurating the program, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Milap Punia stated that the National Education Policy (NEP)-2020 forms the foundation for comprehensive changes in the country's education system, and teachers play the most crucial role in its effective implementation.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Milap Punia emphasized that aligning teachers with the objectives of the new education policy, modern teaching methodologies, research, and innovation is the need of the hour. Such training programs play a vital role in preparing teachers to meet evolving academic requirements.
In the first session, Prof. Deependra Nath Das from JNU, New Delhi, shared insights on the challenges and solutions regarding nation-building. He highlighted the roles of teachers, institutions, students, and society, while also shedding light on the importance of higher education, ethical values, research, social awareness, environmental consciousness, and problem-solving.
In the second session, Prof. Sanjay Bhardwaj from JNU provided information on topics related to research development, modern teaching methodologies, academic leadership, and inclusive education. The event was attended by MMTTC Director Prof. Manish Garg, Deputy Director Dr. Madhuri Hooda, Saraswati Mahila Mahavidyalaya Principal Dr. Vandana Tyagi, along with other teachers and coordinators. More than 100 academicians from various universities and colleges are participating in this program, which will continue until July 28.
