Tabla performance by Rimpa Shiva in Lyallpur Khalsa College

Jalandhar: Rimpa Shiva the renowned tabla maestro from Farrukhabad Gharana gave an enthralling performance in Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar in a special programme organised by the P.G. Department of music of the college. Mr. Shiva also presented different tabla playing styles and taals. Welcoming the artist, the college principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra said that Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar was the first GNDU affiliated college to start Tabla subject in UG classes. He also informed that the college was going to start MA Tabla from the next session. He said that the girls students of the college had also opted for tabla subject which was a rare yet trend setting thing. 
On this occasion, the students of the department presented Saarangi and tabla performance. The vote of thanks on the occasion was made by head of the department Prof. Sukhdev Sagar. The event was witnessed by the presence of the teachers of the department, Dr. Surinder Pal Mand and Dr. Palwinder Singh College Deputy Dean EMA.
