Chandigarh December 19, 2022: The Syndicate, Panjab University, Chandigarh in its meeting held today deliberated on all the agenda items and few of them are as follows:-
The Syndicate also approved the revision of guidelines for enhancement of honorarium of Guest Faculty from Rs. 25000/- to a maximum of Rs. 50000/- per month with the condition that the same has to be come through Board of Finance.
The Syndicate accepted the requests of the Fellows for change of their Faculties for the next two years.
The Syndicate has asked to verify the recommendation of the Committee to look into Roster policy of SC/ST in promotion of non-teaching staff from Punjab Government.
The Syndicate unanimously agreed to give award of M.Phil. in Social Sciences to the participants of the 48th APPPA course enrolled in the year 2022.
The Syndicate has directed to ask for clarification from Govt. of Punjab regarding the adoption of notifications of Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pension, Department of Personnel & Training and Ministry of Finance, Department of Expenditure, Government of India with regard to use of own car/hired taxi on LTC journey on account of physically challenged person.
The Syndicate approved the recommendation of the Committee to deliberate on the issues relating to E-rickshaw services.
The Syndicate approved the introduction of M.Voc. (Fashion Technology and Apparel Design) (Semester System) from the academic session 2021-22 as per recommendation (No.3) of the Committee.
The Syndicate unanimously allowed to discontinuation of M.Ed. course, at Sant Baba Bhag Singh Memorial Girls College of Education, V.P.O. Sukhanand, Moga, from the academic session 2023-24
The Syndicate approved the appointment of Prof. Sushil Kumar Kansal of Dr. S.S. Bhatnagar University Institute of Chemical Engineering & Technology as Dean of International Students till further orders.
The Syndicate approved the appointment of Professor Anupama Sharma of Dr. S.S. Bhatnagar University Institute of Chemical Engineering & Technology to continue as Dean of Alumni Relations till further orders
The Syndicate has given nod to following MoUs:-
•        MoU between Panjab University (Dr. SSBUICET) and Sardar Swaran Singh National Institute of Bio-Energy, Kapurthala
•        MoU between Deptt. of History, Panjab University and Indian Council of World Affairs Sapru House, Barakhamba Road, New Delhi
•        MoU between Deptt. of Gandhian and Peace Studies, Panjab University and Gandhi Smriti and Darshan Smitit, Rajghat, New Delhi
•        MoU between Deptt. of Botany, PU., Chandigarh and CSIR-Institute  of Himalayan Bioresource Technology (CSIR-IHBT), Palampur, HP
•        MoU between DST-CPR, PU and KNOWLEDGENTIA CONSULTANTS, New Delhi.

•                Respected mother of Professor Kuldeep Chand Agnihotri ji, former Vice-Chancellor, Central University of Himachal Pradesh and Fellow on October 12, 2022.

•                I am pleased to share that Dr. Neelima Dhingra, of UIPS of our University has got Sarvshreshth Divyangjan Award, 2022 from the Hon’ble President of India.
•                Panjab University secured 1st position (Overall Winner) in Punjab State Inter-Varsity Youth festival 2022 held at Punjabi University Patiala from 10th to 12th December 2022. The overall trophy to Panjab University was presented by S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, Chief Minister Punjab. The university participated in this youth festival on behalf of all affiliated colleges and PU campus under the aegis of Department of Youth Welfare.
