SUPVA wins the Reel and Short Film Screening Competition held at Gurugram University
Students of Dada Lakhmi Chand State University of Performing and Visual Arts (DLC SUPVA) showcased their outstanding talent and secured first position in the Reel and Short Film Screening Competition held at Gurugram University. This competition was organized by the Department of Psychology of GU in collaboration with the Institute of Human Behavior and Allied Sciences, New Delhi (IHBAS) and Gurugram Police during the international conference on “Samnvay-2026: International Mental Health Confluence - Synergy for Research and Practice.”
Rohtak, February 28, 2026: Students of Dada Lakhmi Chand State University of Performing and Visual Arts (DLC SUPVA) showcased their outstanding talent and secured first position in the Reel and Short Film Screening Competition held at Gurugram University. This competition was organized by the Department of Psychology of GU in collaboration with the Institute of Human Behavior and Allied Sciences, New Delhi (IHBAS) and Gurugram Police during the international conference on “Samnvay-2026: International Mental Health Confluence - Synergy for Research and Practice.”
The winning students and their mentoring faculty members met with Registrar Dr. Gunjan Malik Manocha. The Registrar congratulated and wished everyone, saying that taking care of mental health is crucial in today's fast-paced life. She said that SUPVA students showcased their talent on such a sensitive topic, achieving first place in both categories, a source of pride for all.
In this reel and short film screening competition, a reel created by Hardeep Singh, a student from the 2022 FTV Direction Batch of SUPVA, won first position. This reel illustrates how even a housewife can experience mental illness while managing a family. One can heal by seeking counseling on their problems and emotions through the Mental Health Helpline. This conversation and counseling are kept confidential.
In the short film screening competition, a short film created by Mayank Singh, a first-year Foundation student from the Visual Arts Department, won first position. The film highlights how overthinking can be extremely harmful to mental health. Foundation students Ayush, Shivam, and Saurabh also contributed to the making of this short film.
GU Vice Chancellor Prof. Sanjay Kaushik and Professor Gayatri Raina, Chairperson, Department of Psychology, presented certificates to the winners.
