Rohtak, March 29, 2026: A delegation of students from the Planning and Architecture Department of Dada Lakhmi Chand State University of Performing and Visual Arts (DLCSUPVA) visited Zafargarh Fort and decoded the local language. During this visit, the students closely studied and analysed the indigenous construction techniques used in building the fort. The delegation included second-year Bachelor of Architecture students.

FC Ajay Bahu Joshi of the Planning and Architecture Department stated that academic excursions hold special importance for students during their studies. The students were taken on a visit to Zafargarh Fort, so that they could understand the types of construction materials and architecture used in it. During the visit, the students understood the patterns of traditional settlements and prepared its documentation. In addition to analysing the indigenous construction techniques of the historic fort, they also studied the relationship between local materials and climate-sensitive design.

Architect Pradeep Kumar guided the students and explained that Raja Sarup Singh of Jind built it in 1858-59. From 1858 until Jind's independence, that is, until March 1948, this fort remained under the Jind Emperor. When it came under the government, the land of the fort was handed over to the Forest Department. Shortly after the formation of Haryana on 1 November 1966, a training centre of the Haryana Armed Forces was also opened here.
