Rohtak, March 19, 2026: The path for promotion of the teaching staff working at Dada Lakhmi Chand State University of Performing and Visual Arts (DLCSUPVA) has been cleared. This will be the first time in 12 years since the university was established that the teaching staff here will start receiving promotions. The decision was approved in the Executive Council (EC) meeting on Thursday.

The EC meeting was chaired by Vice-Chancellor Dr. Amit Arya. Present at the meeting were Registrar Dr. Gunjan Malik Manocha, former VC Prof. Rajbir Singh, Dean of Academic Affairs Dr. Ajay Kaushik, Chief Accounts Officer Vikas Gulia, while ACS Finance representative Sumer Yadav, ACS Technical Education representative YPS Berwal, DG Technical Education representative Hardesh Kataria, senior journalist KG Suresh, Dr. Rajiv Srivastava from Banaras Hindu University, and Kiran Juneja Sippy from Ramesh Sippy Academy, Mumbai, attended the meeting online as EC members.

Vice-Chancellor Dr. Amit Arya said that under the UGC's Career Advancement Scheme (CAS), the EC has approved promotions for the teaching staff working in SUPVA. Through CAS, the teaching staff will be able to advance their careers through promotions. This scheme is designed considering the performance of teachers and their contribution to education.

VC Dr. Arya mentioned that under this, it is necessary for the teaching staff to fulfil specific eligibility criteria, which includes years of service and educational qualifications. The evaluation process involves annual self-assessment, application for promotion, and approval by the screening-cum-evaluation committee.

Vice-Chancellor Dr. Amit Arya said that the promotion criteria include a provision that if a teacher obtains a satisfactory or good grade in at least three out of the last four years and the committee recommends promotion, they are promoted. After receiving the application, a selection process for promotion is adopted. It will be conducted by a committee comprising the Vice-Chancellor, the Dean of the concerned faculty, the HOD, and subject experts.

He said that the purpose of CAS is to ensure that teachers receive recognition and promotion for their hard work and dedication to their profession. It provides a clear pathway for career progression and motivates teachers to achieve excellence in their roles.
