A formal unveiling of Sudha Dipak's poetry collection 'Hiraeth' took place at the event.

Chandigarh, July 16, 2023: 'Hiraeth', a collection of poems penned by Sudha Dipak, was formally released at a special event held at the Mini Auditorium of Tagore Theatre here. The programme was organized by Kalakshetra, a part of The Narrators Performing Arts Society. ‘The Sehgal House’, a film based on Sudha’s poetry, and directed by the Founder and Director of The Narrators, Mrs. Nisha Luthra, was also screened prior to the book launch.

The programme also witnessed a conversation between poet Sudha and Nisha Luthra. Sudha said during the interaction, “Hiraeth means an unsatiated and deep longing for something. Each and every poem in the book justifies the title and has a very deep meaning. The book has 61 poems that are experiences I had at different stages of my life.

Nisha Luthra who picked up 8 poems and weaved around these the characters and screenplay of the film said, "The essence of the poetic collection left a deep impact on my mind and this motivated me to further carve a story- 'The Sehgal House' around her poems. The story of the film revolves around human emotions interwoven with basic human relationships." 

The book which has illustrations  by famous artist Anubhav Som was unveiled by the guests of honour Mr. Balkar Sidhu, former Vice Chairman of Chandigarh Sangeet Natak Academy and Prof. Archana R Singh, author, poet and former Head of the School of Communication Studies, Panjab University. A massive theatrical set depicting the real setting and ambiance of the film was erected for the book release. The characters of the film also gave a live stage  performance of a part  of the film which mesmerized the audience. 
 
The main actors in the film included Divya Sharma, Divjot Gulati, Anuraag Verma, Mugdha Arora, Shivani Kashyap, Surjeet Singh and Puneet. The other crew members were SS Sidhu (Director of Photography), Anuj Birwan (Assistant Cinematographer),  Rajan K Bathejaa (Assistant Director), and Neena Bhatnagar (Makeup Artist). The music of the film was given by Gagneet Singh and Hitesh Giri, while it was edited by Krishna Rodge.
