Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar, the premier educational institution of North India, has achieved great achievements in the field of education as well as sports. In the same series, the students of the college have set a new record by winning the tennis trophy in the Punjab Sports Fair, bringing the name of the college to light. 

On this occasion, Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra congratulated and honoured the students. He said that such victories boost the morale of the players and instill sportsmanship in them. At this time, he thanked the college management and said that due to the facilities provided by the management to promote sports, the students get victories and the name of the college shines in the countries and abroad. Mentioning the achievements of tennis players, he said that college student Sukhdeep Singh, who is also the captain of the college tennis team, participated in the All-India Inter-University for three consecutive years from 2018 to 2020. He finished second in the inter-college competitions in 2019 and 2021 and also finished third in the North Zone competitions. Sukhdeep Singh represented the Punjab team and participated in the Khelo India competition in 2020. He said that Gurkeerat Singh also participated in the All India Inter-University from 2018 to 2020. He won third place in North Zone competitions and first place in inter-college competitions in 2019 and 2021. He represented the Punjab team in the Khelo India competition and won a silver medal (double gold). He said that our student Parvadev Garg also participated in the All India Inter-University from 2018 to 2020 and secured the first position in the North Zone all three years. He was also the inter-college champion in 2021. He won a silver medal representing the Punjab team in the Khelo India competition in 2020 and won a single and double gold medal in the sports fair. 

Principal Dr. Samra, Dr. S.S. Bains Dean Sports and Tennis Coach Nirmal Singh Toor also congratulated the college for this achievement and asked them to continue this feat further stating that this is a proud achievement for the sports department of the college. On this occasion, the entire staff of the college sports department, students and coaches were present.
