Strict Vigilance and Zero Tolerance Against Illegal Mining in Rohtak: DC Sachin Gupta

Rohtak, December 17, 2025: Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta chaired a review meeting of the Mining Department at the Mini Secretariat, Rohtak, to assess enforcement measures taken against illegal mining and unauthorized transportation of soil and minerals in the district.
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed the action taken report and noted that stringent enforcement action has been carried out, including registration of FIRs, seizure of vehicles, imposition of penalties, and recovery of dues. An amount of ₹3.22 lakh has been recovered during the review period, while recovery proceedings for ₹6.39 lakh are underway, for which notices have already been issued to the concerned violators.
The Deputy Commissioner directed officers to maintain round-the-clock surveillance, particularly through night patrolling and joint naka operations with Police and Transport Departments. Special emphasis was laid on checking key routes and district borders to prevent illegal transportation of soil and minerals from adjoining districts.
He further stated that no crushers, stockyards, or screening plants are operational in the district, and any attempt to establish illegal units will be dealt with strictly as per law. Regular checking of e-Ravana permits and use of digital monitoring tools such as CCTV, GPS, and ANPR cameras is being continued to ensure transparency and accountability.
DC Sachin Gupta emphasized zero tolerance towards illegal mining, reiterating that any violation causing environmental damage, road deterioration, or public inconvenience will invite strict penal action. He also directed officers to maintain close coordination with village representatives and promptly address any complaints received from the public.
The Deputy Commissioner instructed all concerned departments to submit weekly monitoring reports and ensure continuous enforcement so that no illegal mining activity takes place anywhere in the district.
