National BJP Leader and Patron, Punjab Kalakar Manch, Regd., Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal Bhukhri Kalan said that the Punjabi Film Industry has once again stooped to the lowest gutter of filth and disgrace.

Chandigarh, September 23, 2025: National BJP Leader and Patron, Punjab Kalakar Manch, Regd., Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal Bhukhri Kalan said that the Punjabi Film Industry has once again stooped to the lowest gutter of filth and disgrace.
In a statement, he said that in the trailer of the upcoming so-called Ammy Virk starrer film “Nikka Zaildar 4” directed by Simarjit Singh, actress Sonam Bajwa is shamelessly shown as a Sikh family’s daughter-in-law holding a cigarette.
Grewal told that tobacco is one of the four biggest prohibitions in the Sikh Rehat Maryada. Even men in Sikh families never touch tobacco, yet this third-rate filmmaker dares to show a Sikh woman smoking a cigarette? This is not creativity, this is a direct insult to Sikh principles, Sikh tradition and Sikh women.
He said that this is not just some “random scene” it is a deliberate, dirty and poisonous conspiracy to corrupt the minds of the new generation by planting a filthy image of Sikh women.
Grewal told that Ammy Virk pretends to be “sensitive and rooted” but hides like a coward while his heroine is shown smoking and drinking in a Sikh household. Do you even understand that crores of youngsters treat you as a role model? Your silence equals your guilt. Shame on you.
He said Punjabi Cinema has already poisoned Punjab with endless guns, drugs, vulgarity, and gangster glorification. Now it has crossed all limits by dragging Sikh women into this muck with hookahs, liquor, and cigarettes. This is a psychological assault on Sikh faith, Punjabi culture, and Punjabi heritage.
Grewal told that all this cheap filth is only for box office money. This trend will rip future generations away from their roots. For NRIs who see Punjab only through films and songs, this is even more dangerous. This is not cinema this is a cultural betrayal born out of greed, shamelessness, and anti-Sikh hatred.
He said Supreme Court has already banned obscene and violent songs, videos in public transport. Now Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, Union Minister for Information & Broadcasting Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, and the Central Film Censor Board must take strict and immediate action ban this film, stop its release.
Grewal told that worldwide Punjabis must wake up. This is not entertainment, this is cultural genocide in the name of cinema. Sikh women mean dignity, honor and self-respect. They will never be reduced to cheap smoke-and-drink props for greedy filmmakers.
He said that every Punjabi, especially Sikh women, must rise, protest and reject this cultural character assassination. If we stay silent, our proud heritage and clean image will be buried under the filth of this industry.
