Ludhiana, February 8, 2015: State Bank of Patiala, Ludhiana Zone held its 2nd Zonal Sports/Athletic Meet today at Shastri Badminton Hall (Guru Nanak Stadium), Ludhiana.  Haridas K.V.,Chief General Manager (CB) was the Chief Guest on this occasion.

D.V.Suresh Kumar, General Manager (RNW-II, Chandigarh) and Mohinder Singh, District Sports Officer, Ludhiana were the Guests of Honour.

S.K.Gautam, General Secretary, All India State Bank of  Patiala Employees' Federation and Secretary, Central Welfare Committee, Naresh Gaur, Secretary, Zonal Welfare Committee, Sanmeet Singh, Secretary, Central Sports Committee and Suresh M.Nair, DGM, Commercial Branch, Ludhiana were also present on this occasion.  More than 200 bank employees and their wards participated in various events like Badminton, Table Tennis, Carom, Races, Shot put etc.

While welcoming the participants and other distinguished guests, Sh. Rajeev Kumar Sharma, Deputy General Manager, Ludhiana Zone said that games play a vital role in everybody's life. Besides keeping us healthy, games freshens our mind and soul. Games as a career also can take a person to glorious heights in his life. He conveyed his best wishes to all the participants for their excellent performance in the events.   

CGM, Haridas before the inauguration of the Sports Meet donated One Water Cooler with R.O.System to S.C.D. Government College for Boys, Ludhiana under the Community Service Activities undertaken by State Bank of Patiala. While inaugurating the Sports Meet, Sh. Haridas shared that Bank has opened its 1300th Branch (556th Branch in Punjab State) at Dera Baba Nanak. The Bank has a rich tradition of excellence in service to customers in all areas of Banking with 98 years of history, It invokes a sense of pride to be connected with its customers. Our Bank has successfully faced several challenges in its long journey over several decades and has emerged as a key player in developing the social infrastructure in the country. Further, Haridas highlighted the various Deposits, Advances and other schemes launched by the Bank. He said that Ludhiana being the Hosiery and Industrial Hub has great potential and we are dedicated to enhance best services to the industry in this city and State of Punjab.

On this occasion, Ashwani Grover (AGM-II), Rajesh Passey (AGM-III),  Amarjit Singh Girn, AGM, Jagan Nath Makhija, Secretary, Zonal Sports Committee, Rakesh Khanna, Mahesh Goyal, Vice Presidents, Zonal Welfare Committee & Zonal Sports Committee were also present.
