Dharamshala, May 6,2025: The Delhi Capitals squad touched down at Gaggal Airport on Tuesday afternoon ahead of their highly anticipated Indian Premier League (IPL) match against Punjab Kings, scheduled for May 8 at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala.

Led by Akshar Patel and accompanied by key players including KL Rahul, the team landed around 2:40 PM and was escorted under tight security to Hotel Radisson Blu in Kandi via special team buses. Both at the airport and hotel, the Delhi players received a warm and traditional welcome.

This will be the second IPL fixture hosted at the scenic Dharamshala venue this season. The clash, set to begin at 7:30 PM on Wednesday, promises high stakes as both teams remain in strong contention for playoff spots.

Punjab Kings enter the match with renewed confidence after defeating the Lucknow Super Giants on May 4 at the same venue. The victory propelled them to second place in the points table with 15 points, having secured 7 wins and 3 losses in 11 matches.

Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals, whose recent match against Sunrisers Hyderabad ended in a draw, currently occupy the fifth spot. With 13 points from 10 games, including 6 wins, 4 losses, and 1 draw, the team is looking to climb higher with a crucial win in Dharamshala.

HPCA Press Secretary Mohit Sood informed that the Punjab team will practice on Tuesday evening from 6 to 9 PM. The Delhi Capitals are scheduled to hold their practice session on Wednesday at 8 PM.

With both teams showing strong form in the 18th IPL season, the upcoming matches are expected to be fiercely competitive. Following the May 8 encounter, Punjab Kings will also face Mumbai Indians at the same venue on May 11.
