The Department of Community Education and Disability Studies organized special lecture on the topic “Mindfulness and Holistic Based Practices for Children with Cross Disability” on today under the patronage of Vice-Chancellor Prof.(Dr) Renu Vig.
Chandigarh, September 19, 2024: The Department of Community Education and Disability Studies organized special lecture on the topic “Mindfulness and Holistic Based Practices for Children with Cross Disability” on today under the patronage of Vice-Chancellor Prof.(Dr) Renu Vig.
Dr. Md. Saifur Rahman, Chairperson of the Department, delivered welcome note with introducing some mindfulness strategies for children with cross disability.
Resource person, Dr Parvesh Kumar, Assistant Professor, Govt. College, Panchkula, highlighted many of the key reasons of increasing stress and anxiety in daily life of human being. Dr. Kumar also explained universal approaches of meditation, guided imagery activity, Yoga and Ayurveda practices and discussed that how these activities are beneficial for children with special needs.
Speaker also introduced some therapies like chanting the Mantras of ‘OM’ and emphasised that yoga as science of discipline and mental calmness.
