The Centre for Social Work, Panjab University, in collaboration with the HH Dalai Lama Chair, Panjab University, and the Department of Ancient Indian History, Culture & Archaeology, Panjab University, today organised a special lecture on “Metta & Mental Health” at the Department of Ancient Indian History, Culture & Archaeology, Panjab University, Chandigarh.
Chandigarh, 17 February 2026: The Centre for Social Work, Panjab University, in collaboration with the HH Dalai Lama Chair, Panjab University, and the Department of Ancient Indian History, Culture & Archaeology, Panjab University, today organised a special lecture on “Metta & Mental Health” at the Department of Ancient Indian History, Culture & Archaeology, Panjab University, Chandigarh.
The expert speaker for the session was Kamal Singh Malhi, Founder of the Bodhicitta Centre for Mindful Awareness and Advisor to the HH Dalai Lama Chair, Panjab University, Chandigarh. She delivered an insightful lecture highlighting the significance of Metta (loving-kindness) in promoting mental well-being and emotional resilience in today’s fast-paced lifestyle.
Prof. Paru Bal Sidhu, Chairperson, Department of Ancient Indian History, Culture & Archaeology, warmly welcomed the guest and expressed gratitude for sparing her valuable time for the students. Prof. Monica Munjial Singh, Chairperson, Centre for Social Work, Panjab University, Chandigarh, delivered the vote of thanks and emphasised the importance of such sessions in contemporary life.
Master’s students and research scholars from both departments actively participated in the session.
