Chandigarh, 7 May 2025: Centre for IAS and other Competitive Examinations, Panjab University, Chandigarh today organized a special lecture on “Managing Public Money” for IAS aspirants.

Vijay Kumar Singh, Retired IAS (Punjab Cadre) delivered the lecture. The event commenced with a warm welcome extended by Honorary Director of the Centre Prof. Dr. Jyoti Rattan. The event began with a brief introduction about the Centre and the distinguished Chief Guest, Vijay Kumar Singh, Retired IAS (Punjab Cadre). 

 

Singh delivered an insightful lecture on the importance of handling public funds, highlighting the evolving financial condition of Punjab and the underlying reasons. Drawing from his vast experience in the Indian Administrative Service, he provided deep insights into the mechanisms of budgeting, allocation, and the ethical management of public funds.

 

The talk focused on the role of sound financial management in public sector reforms and underlined the key principles of public audit.

 

The event was also graced by Prof. Ashutosh Kumar, Guest of honour and former Director of the Centre, adding further academic depth to the discussion. The lecture was well-received by aspirants, offering valuable insights into ethical and efficient public financial administration.
