Social workers honor VC Dr. H.K. Agarwal for Organ Donation Initiative

Rohtak, April 30, 2026: Dr. H.K. Agarwal, Vice-Chancellor of Pt. Bhagwat Dayal Sharma University of Health Sciences, and Director Dr. S.K. Singhal were honored by various social workers for their campaign promoting organ donation. Present on this occasion were Dinesh Mudgal (former District Convener of the BJP Education Cell), social worker Karamvir Saini, Ravinder and Umed Singh (District Co-conveners of the BJP District Education Cell).
All of them honored the Vice-Chancellor and the Director by draping shawls over their shoulders and presenting them with mementos. They remarked that the achievement of PGIMS—facilitating organ donations from three brain-dead patients within a single month to give a new lease on life to 19 individuals—is a historic feat. All the social workers pledged to participate enthusiastically in the organ donation awareness campaign, vowing to visit every village, ward, and school to administer the organ donation pledge to as many people as possible.
Speaking on the occasion, Vice-Chancellor Dr. H.K. Agarwal said that this honor belongs not to him, but to those three families who, even after losing their own beloved kin, thought of others. He added that this honor is a tribute to the entire team of doctors, the transplant team, and the nursing staff. The Vice-Chancellor further noted that this campaign is being driven through the support of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and the guidance of Health Minister Aarti Rao.
Director Dr. S.K. Singhal observed that death is inevitable for everyone, but through organ donation, one can live on eight times over. Other officials present during the event included Registrar Dr. Roop Singh, Dean Dr. Ashok Chauhan, Dean of Academic Affairs Dr. M.G. Vashishth, Medical Superintendent Dr. Kundan Mittal, Principal of the Dental College Dr. Manu Rathi, and Dr. Varun Arora, In-charge of the Public Relations Department.
