Social Welfare Activities by the Inner Wheel Club of Jalandhar

Jalandhar, July 29, 2026: Continuing its commitment to the motto of Service and Friendship, the Inner Wheel Club of Jalandhar carried out a series of meaningful community service projects in the month of July benefiting people from all walks of life.

The club donated an inverter along with refreshments, including chips, biscuits, and bottles of Rooh Afza to the children attending evening classes at Learning Hub Society, ensuring a more comfortable learning environment.

In another humanitarian initiative, the club extended financial assistance to a young underprivileged woman by bearing the expenses of her delivery, surgery, medication, and postnatal care. She was blessed with a healthy baby girl, bringing immense joy to her family.

Members served sumptuous meals and ration items at Mother Teresa Home, where the children happily enjoyed the food. The club also served lunch to 40 residents of Apahaj Ashram, who appreciated the meal served with love, care, and respect.

To promote the well-being of schoolchildren, the club donated a water cooler to the Government Senior Secondary School, Wadala. The cooler was installed on the second floor, eliminating the need for students to go downstairs for drinking water.

An informative awareness session on menstrual hygiene was conducted by Dr. Harjinder, a member of the club, at Lyallpur Khalsa College. She educated young girls on menstrual hygiene, proper care, and necessary precautions. An interactive question-and-answer session addressed the students’ concerns, and 100 packets of sanitary pads were distributed.

As part of its regular monthly service project, the club provided fodder for cows, contributed towards the treatment of injured animals—especially cows and dogs—and donated medicines to an animal protection home.

The club also distributed drawing books, colours, and water bottles to underprivileged children attending an evening school run by a dedicated volunteer teacher, encouraging them in their educational journey.

Supporting children’s recreation and happiness, the club partnered with Aakhri Umeed Society during a summer camp and magic show at Nikku Park, where it provided refreshments for the participating children.

Club also extended a helping hand to the inmates of Aakhri Sahara Sewa Ghar by donating two months’ worth of essential ration supplies. The items included wheat flour, rice, sugar, cooking oil, tea, pulses, biscuits, rusks, soaps, detergents, and a variety of spices in ample quantities to support the daily needs of the residents.
