Skill Enhancement Course on “Mastering Excel: From Fundamentals to Advanced Analytics, AI Tools & Dashboards”

Chandigarh, August 26, 2026: University Business School (UBS), Panjab University, in collaboration with the Centre for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (CSDE), Panjab University, organised the valedictory ceremony of the 30-hour Skill Enhancement Course on “Mastering Excel: From Fundamentals to Advanced Analytics, AI Tools & Dashboards”, held from August 12 to 25, 2026, at UBS, Panjab University, Chandigarh.
The course was designed to equip students with practical and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, data analysis, dashboards, automation and emerging AI-enabled tools, strengthening their analytical and technology-oriented capabilities. The programme provided students with hands-on exposure to tools and techniques that could be applied across academic, managerial and professional contexts.
The valedictory ceremony was graced by Ripujit Singh, Chief Executive Officer, TwoTwentyTwo Consulting, as the Chief Guest, and Devashish Kumar, who had been associated with the course as a domain expert. Ripujit, in his address, shared reflections from the history and evolution of Excel and the technology industry. He recalled the early development of Excel and referred to the role of professionals and organisations in shaping the software and its subsequent growth. He also highlighted the importance of collaboration and collective achievement, stressing that individuals should recognise and leverage the skills and strengths of others around them. He encouraged the students to work together, build complementary skills and recognise that success was often achieved through collaboration rather than individual effort alone.
Prof. Suveera Gill, Honorary Director, CSDE, in her address, highlighted the significance of the University’s legacy and its journey in business education. She also emphasised the need for skill enhancement courses to remain aligned with industry requirements and encouraged students to develop technological proficiency alongside their academic knowledge.
Prof. Luxmi Malodia, Course Coordinator, gave a comprehensive overview of the course and focused on the practical value of data and analytics in contemporary organisations. She emphasised the importance of strategy-building through data and explained how tools such as Power Query, Macros, Pivot Tables and Dashboards could help convert data into actionable information.
The final address reinforced the message that students entering the professional world would need to understand not only traditional business concepts but also the growing intersection of data, technology, artificial intelligence and decision-making.
Prof. Meenu Aggarwal delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the Chief Guest, dignitaries, resource persons, course coordinators and participants for their valuable contributions towards the successful conduct of the programme.
The valedictory ceremony marked the successful completion of the 30-hour Skill Enhancement Course and reaffirmed the commitment of UBS and CSDE towards enhancing students’ employability through practical, industry-relevant and future-oriented skill development.
