In yet another recovery from the Central jail, six mobile phones were seized in two separate cases.

Ferozepur, October 30, 2022: In yet another recovery from the Central jail, six mobile phones were seized in two separate cases. In the first case, five mobile phones were recovered from the accused undertrials identified as Ajay, Jaskaran, Gautam and Sunil. As per information, one of the accused Ajay Kumar had picked up two packets which were thrown from the outside near barrack number three of the jail. During the interrogation, the accused revealed about two more packets which he had received earlier had been handed over to other undertrial Jaskaran. 

When these packets were opened three mobile phones besides 23 packets of tobacco, three packets cigarette were recovered. “When interrogated, Jaskaran revealed that he had called his accomplice Sunil Kumar to throw these packets inside the jail. Meanwhile, one mobile was recovered from other jail inmate Gautam Kumar (Samsung keypad with SIM) while one phone was found abandoned from the barrack number one of block one”, said jail officials. 

All the accused were booked under Prisons Act by the police following the complaint lodged by the jail officials (FIR No. 421 Dated 29.10.2022). 

In other case, one mobile phone (Samsung keypad phone without SIM) was recovered from an undertrial identified as Balwinder Singh alias Khudri, a resident of Village Hasta Kalan in Fazilka district. The accused was booked under 52-A Prisons Act at city police station (FIR No. 420 Dated 29.10.2022).
