Chandigarg, January 29, 2026: Seven Days Special NSS Camp concluded today at Government Home Science College, Chandigarh today with the NSS Wing of the college organizing a valedictory ceremony marked by great zeal and enthusiasm.

Dr. Nemi Chand, State Liaison Officer, NSS, UT Chandigarh, graced the occasion as the Honorable Chief Guest. The programme commenced with a ceremonial lamp lighting followed by reflections shared by NSS volunteers on the valuable experiences and learning gained through various activities conducted during the camp. The event was further enriched by vibrant cultural dance performances presented by the volunteers, beautifully showcasing the unity and diversity of the nation.

The ceremony highlighted the true spirit of the NSS camp and its significant contribution to personal growth and societal development. A visual presentation showcasing glimpses of all the activities carried out during the camp was presented to the Chief Guest. Additionally, an exhibition of “Best out of Waste” creations prepared by the volunteers including handmade paintings, embroidery items, decorative earthen pots, decor pieces, wall hangings, bookmarks and posters was also displayed.

Dr. Nemi Chand highly appreciated the dedication and enthusiasm of the NSS volunteers and emphasized the importance of community service. He remarked that true joy lies in serving others and contributing towards making the world a better place. He congratulated the volunteers for their commendable efforts and encouraged them to adopt a strong communitarian approach in their future endeavors.

The Principal of the college, Prof. Sudha Katyal lauded the tireless efforts of the NSS volunteers and Programme Officers for their innovative ideas and commitment in making the Special Camp a grand success. She inspired the volunteers to uphold the NSS motto, “Not Me But You,” with greater responsibility and to actively contribute towards the transformation of society.
