Chandigarh, September 20, 2025: The Department of Economics, in collaboration with the Central Placement Cell, conducted its session on “Sensitisation and Alumni Interaction” for the 2025–26 session.
The event was led by Honorary Director, Central Placement Cell, Panjab University, Prof. Meena Sharma, followed by insights from Dr. Ravneet Kaur, Dr. Rohini Sharma, and the department’s alumna, Dhriti Sharma.
Prof. Meena Sharma discussed the role of the Central Placement Cell in addressing the skill gaps between student CVs and industry requirements. She also encouraged early career preparation and discussed various job opportunities available to students. Dr. Ravneet Kaur and Dr. Rohini Sharma focused on the value of internships, academic opportunities, and soft skills in their respective speeches and encouraged students to push themselves to achieve greater heights.
An interactive talk was also held with alumna Dhriti Sharma. The programme concluded with a formal vote of thanks by Dr. Smita Sharma, Chairperson, who encouraged the students to actively apply the knowledge gained for their personal and professional development.
