Session on “Bharat Mart at Dubai: India’s Gateway to the World” organized by FIEO & Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza)
Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza) in association with Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) jointly organized a session on “Bharat Mart at Dubai: India’s gateway to the World” at Ludhiana. The session was conducted by experts from Jafza and FIEO.

Ludhiana, October 06, 2205: Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza) in association with Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) jointly organized a session on “Bharat Mart at Dubai: India’s gateway to the World” at Ludhiana. The session was conducted by experts from Jafza and FIEO.
Amitesh Mishra, Director (Business Development Parks & Zones), Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA), during his address said that , “The objective for organizing the session is to sensitize Indian businesses about the strategic location of “Bharat Mart” which is being managed and to be constructed by DP World at JAFZA and it will be a “World-Class Trading Platform” for Indian companies looking for expansion in Middle East, Europe, Africa & other regions. The Bharat Mart will offer warehousing facility in the United Arab Emirates at a very nominal charges, helping Indian exports showcase their products under one roof to target audience. Further, the India-UAE Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), will also play catalytic role for Indian companies looking to expand in Middle-Eastern regions and further for a “Global Value Chain” integration”.
He also added that, “Bharat Mart will be a key trading hub for Indian businesses, strategically located in Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza), the facility will feature 1,500 showrooms and over 7,00,000 square feet of warehousing, industrial units, office spaces and meeting facilities dedicated for women led businesses from India. Just 11 km from Jebel Ali Port, 15 km from Al Maktoum International Airport and with convenient access to Etihad Rail, Bharat Mart promises to offer Indian businesses seamless access to the multimodel logistics network. Jafza continues to play a key role in India-UAE bilateral trade, hosting over 2,300 Indian companies. He further shared how Indian businesses can leverage JAFZA’s connectivity, DP World’s global network of ports, economic zones, logistics and digital trade platforms to strengthen their international presence”.
Sarvjit Singh, Regional Chairman (Past) NR, FIEO while interacting with the participants said that, “Bharat Mart will act as a gateway for Indian exporters to connect with international buyers and will also offer a “Ready-To-Use” warehousing facility, display and distribution chambers at Dubai’s Jebel Ali Free Zone”.
Deon D’Mello, Senior Manager (Business Development), Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza), shared the unique value proposition of ‘Bharat Mart’ as a dedicated marketplace for Indian goods, which will eliminate the need for exporters to set up expensive overseas offices, reduces logistics and enable faster access to the consumers across Africa, Middle East and Europe. He further said that, “DP World remains committed to enhancing trade by developing world-class logistics infrastructure, unlocking new markets and supporting sustainable economic growth”.
Vinay Sharma, Deputy Director, FIEO, during his address shared various key initiatives taken by FIEO for the promotion of exports from India. FIEO works very closely with Government of India right from the constitution of Government of India’s Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) Plans to various other important initiatives enhancing India’s export by sensitizing aspiring entrepreneurs and Start-Ups at ground level, helping them to venture into the field of exports, handholding them and addressing their key issues via consultative process with various key agencies involved in the whole export process. FIEO works in close tandem with Departments like Customs, Goods and Services Tax (GST) Department, Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), Banks and State Government through various Joint Working Groups or Committees at state and national level for addressing export fraternity’s issues”.
The session was well attended by close to 80 delegates representing prominent business houses across Punjab State.
