Education system collapsed in Punjab with 31,000 Teacher Posts Vacant: Tarun Chugh
BJP Rajya Sabha MP Tarun Chugh today promised to restructure the entire education system in Punjab after its dismal collapse in the last few years.
Chandigarh, August 25, 2026: BJP Rajya Sabha MP Tarun Chugh today promised to restructure the entire education system in Punjab after its dismal collapse in the last few years.
He said over 31,370 teacher posts are vacant in Punjab, while around 1,150 government senior secondary schools are functioning without regular principals. Reports of children being forced to study under the open sky in Fazilka, along with basic errors in educational material displayed in classrooms, further expose the gap between the government’s claims and the reality in Punjab’s schools.
He said over the years all governments have been playing pranks with the future of school children , but very soon the BJP will come with a new vision to meet the requirements of school children to the last corner of the state.
National Office In-Charge and Gujarat BJP In-Charge Tarun Chugh launched a sharp attack on the Bhagwant Mann government over the deteriorating state of education in Punjab and the pending DA dues of government employees and pensioners.
Chugh said the Aam Aadmi Party’s much-publicised ‘Education Revolution’ has now been completely exposed and has been reduced to government advertisements rather than meaningful reform on the ground.
Chugh said that prolific advertisement to mislead the people of state would never salvage the plight of school children.
He said the Bhagwant Mann government should stop hiding behind advertisements and start answering the people of Punjab. Instead of spending crores on publicity, the government should fill vacant teaching posts, appoint regular principals and release the pending DA of employees and pensioners.
Punjab needs teachers, not advertisements; principals, not publicity; and payment of legitimate dues, not empty promises. The gap between AAP’s claims and the reality on the ground is now clearly visible to the people of Punjab.
