Senior BJP leader Sanjay Tandon hails PM Modi's visionary leadership on 7th anniversary of abrogation of Article 370

Chandigarh, August 5, 2026: Senior BJP leader and Co-incharge for Himachal Pradesh Sanjay Tandon on Wednesday hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi's decisive and visionary leadership on the occasion of the 7th anniversary of the abrogation of Article 370, describing the historic move as a defining moment in India's journey towards complete national integration and inclusive development.

In a statement issued here, Tandon said that the abrogation of Article 370 on August 5, 2019, fulfilled the long-cherished dream of millions of Indians and marked the end of a temporary constitutional provision that had hindered the complete integration of Jammu and Kashmir with the rest of the country.

"The historic decision taken under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the able guidance of Union Home Minister Amit Shah has ushered in a new era of peace, progress and prosperity in Jammu and Kashmir. Today, the region is witnessing unprecedented development, improved infrastructure, enhanced connectivity, growing investment, expanding tourism and greater opportunities for its youth," Tandon said.

He stated that the people of Jammu and Kashmir are now enjoying the same constitutional rights, welfare schemes and development benefits as citizens in every other part of the country. "The extension of Central laws and social justice measures has empowered women, Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes and other marginalized sections, ensuring equal rights and opportunities for all," he added.

Tandon said the anniversary serves as a reminder of the Modi Government's strong commitment to national unity, good governance and inclusive development. "Prime Minister Modi has demonstrated exemplary leadership by taking bold decisions in the larger national interest. The abrogation of Article 370 stands as a landmark achievement that has strengthened India's unity and sovereignty while opening new avenues of growth for Jammu and Kashmir," he remarked.

Calling upon BJP workers and citizens to stay committed to the ideals of Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat, Tandon said the transformation witnessed in Jammu and Kashmir over the past seven years reflects the success of the Prime Minister's vision of a strong, secure and developed India.
