Senior BJP leader Sanjay Tandon visited the Manimajra Motor Market and interacted with representatives of the Mechanics Union and local mechanics to understand the challenges they have been facing.
Chandigarh, June 16, 2026: Senior BJP leader Sanjay Tandon visited the Manimajra Motor Market and interacted with representatives of the Mechanics Union and local mechanics to understand the challenges they have been facing.
During the interaction, mechanics informed Tandon that many of them, who have been operating their workstations in the Motor Market for years, are facing difficulties in carrying out their work due to actions by the Municipal Corporation. They expressed concern that the situation is adversely affecting their livelihoods and the well-being of their families.
The mechanics urged that the issue be resolved at the earliest. Listening to their grievances in detail, Tandon assured them that he would take up the matter seriously with the concerned authorities and make every effort to ensure an early and appropriate resolution.
Speaking on the occasion, Tandon said, “Our hardworking workers and skilled artisans are an important pillar of society. Issues related to their employment and livelihood must be addressed with sensitivity and priority. I am committed to ensuring that their genuine concerns and demands reach the appropriate forums and receive due consideration.”
He further added, “The mechanics of Manimajra Motor Market have been contributing to the local economy for years. Their livelihood concerns deserve immediate attention, and I will actively engage with the concerned officials to find a practical and fair solution.”
A large number of mechanics attended the meeting, including Union President Bagela Singh, Binda, Surjit, Harpreet Bittu, Ranjit Rana and Soni. Kamal Sharma Shanky and Avtar Dhillon were also present on the occasion.
