Seminar on industrial training projects 

Chandigarh, May 4, 2023: University Institute of Fashion Technology & Vocational Development hosted a seminar on industrial training projects by B.Sc. Fashion and Lifestyle Technology students. Students in their final year of their bachelor's curriculum underwent six weeks of training in reputed Fashion and Lifestyle enterprises, which comprised fashion designers, apparel export industry, jewellery designers, make-up artists etc. Some of the organisations where students interned include Namrata Joshipura, Hersheinbox, 612 IVY League, Paramount Products, Yavi, Richa Global Exports Pvt. Ltd, Indya (House of Indya), Monte Carlo, THR3LETTER, Taika by Poonam Bhagat, CTA apparels Pvt. Ltd. etc. Ms. Pritha Gosh, Operations Manager, Active Clothing Co. Ltd., Mohali, was on the jury and assessed students’ presentations.
 
Students discussed their internship experiences, including their learnings, tasks, and projects. Some of the topics covered were zero waste, sustainability, social media content development, market research and analysis, designing apparels and accessories, Surface embellishments, photoshoots, visual merchandising, and so on. Ms. Pritha admired student efforts and the range of innovative ideas. She addressed the UIFT students on the kind of projects they may take on when they intern with any company again in the future. She also shared the industry expectations from a fashion design student on employment. Sincerity, commitment and regularly working on innovative ideas contributing towards the organization is important. Students of Final year thanked the jury member for her critical and positive suggestions and feedback.
