Secretary, GoI visits MSDC and ITI
Today, Atul Kumar Tiwari, Secretary, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), Government of India visited Multi Skill Development Centre and I.T.I. Ludhiana.

Ludhiana, May 31, 2025: Today, Atul Kumar Tiwari, Secretary, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), Government of India visited Multi Skill Development Centre and I.T.I. Ludhiana.
Ludhiana has been selected amongst Five National Center of Excellence for Skilling India that will be set up with global expertise and partnerships to equip our youth with the skills required for "Make for India Make for the World" manufacturing. Proposed features: Leverage Global Partnerships for upgradation of NSTI for technical expertise in course development, certification frameworks, and international mobility of skilled workers to anchor a research eco-system to make available evidence-based skill gaps and continuous changing pedagogy, Upgrade existing courses and introduce sector-specific curricula with multiple entry and exit options.
The National Skill Training Institute Ludhiana has been selected for Textile Manufacturing and Apparels.
Gurmeet Singh Kular President FICO welcome the decision of Government of India; at the same time, he said that there is a need for NSTI dedicated to the Bicycle and Sewing Machine Industry of Ludhiana, because India is Second Largest Manufacturer of Bicycles and Sewing Machines, to manufacture global standard products, the industry needs highly skilled work force.
Charanjit Singh Vishivkarma Chairman UCPMA said that this upgraded Multi Skill Development Centre and I.T.I. Ludhiana is running on its 100% occupancy in every course, this will certainly change the scenario of industrial growth.
