Kapurthala, October 17, 2025: Pushpa Gujral Science City (PGSC) organized a Blood Donation Camp to mark its 29th Foundation Day. The initiative received an overwhelming response with around 100 individuals, including staff members of Science City, coming forward to donate blood and contribute to this noble cause.
The camp was inaugurated by Dr. Rajesh Grover, Director, Science City, Kapurthala. He emphasized the importance of blood donation as a philanthropic act of immense value, particularly in cases of heart and bypass surgeries, trauma, and accidental injuries that can occur unexpectedly. Dr. Grover remarked that “blood donated during such camps can save numerous lives each year.” He further appealed to all participants to make it a practice to donate blood at least once every year.
On the occasion, Dr. Munish Soin, Scientist-D, Science City, shared that regular blood donation not only helps in controlling high blood pressure and cholesterol levels, but also promotes overall physical fitness. He added that donating blood is a small yet significant act of kindness that contributes greatly to the welfare of society.
The camp was facilitated by a medical team from the Civil Hospital, Kapurthala, which ensured proper supervision and smooth conduct of the donation process. As a gesture of gratitude, donors were given certificates of appreciation for their contribution in the camp.
