School of Communication Studies kickstarts Orientation Week with Industry Interaction

Chandigarh, August 22, 2023: School of Communication Studies, Panjab University, kick started a week-long orientation program today. The inaugural ceremony saw the keynote address delivered by Jyoti Kamal, the Managing Editor, TV Network 18. Prof. Anju Suri, Dean Faculty of Arts and Director, HRDC, Panjab University graced the occasion. Dr. Bhavneet Bhatti, Chairperson, School of Communication Studies welcomed the guests and introduced the theme of week-long Orientation Week. She shared that the program will have a mix of industry and academia sessions to orient the students to thenew academic session.

Jyoti Kamal, shared his experiences from the field and gave a message of optimism in the wake of uncertainty of life. He spoke about the importance of strong foundation to the media career, about the use of AI and social media and also shared the concept of individualization of mass media. An interactive session with Mr. Kamal helped the students get motivated for the coming academic session. Thereafter, Prof. Suri delivered the concluding remarks of the event where she threw light on the importance of self-esteem and individual personality. The event ended on a positive note with vote of thanks from the Chairperson SCS Dr. Bhavneet Bhatti.
