Ludhiana, July 29, 2025: Sat Paul Mittal School, Ludhiana, has achieved a new benchmark in academic excellence in India’s 1st PISA-based Test for Schools (PBTS) conducted from November 2024 to January 2025. PISA, conducted by the OECD Paris, is the world’s most trusted measure of student learning outcomes. While national PISA assesses countries, PISA for Schools provides individual schools with global benchmarking and actionable insights to drive meaningful improvement in student learning.
The results establish Sat Paul Mittal School amongst the top-performing schools with scores comparable to highest performing education systems in the PISA. In addition to the scores in cognitive domains in Reading, Mathematics and Science, the test gave insights into the overall student achievement, equity, engagement, and well-being.
The school’s performance in the PISA for Schools assessment is commendable, with a score of 543 in Mathematics significantly higher than the OECD countries’ average and exceeding those of high-performing systems such as Japan and Chinese Taipei. In Science, with 537, the score is similar to Chinese Taipei while in Reading, a score of 516 is also on par with global leaders like Ireland and Japan. Overall, students performed well in all three domains, reflecting the school’s strong academic foundation, over-all well-being of children, and the consistent efforts of its faculty.
