Ludhiana, May 19, 2025: Rajya Sabha member and environmentalist Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal, along with Cabinet Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian, expressed their heartfelt condolences to two grieving families and assured them of all possible support. The tragic incident involved the drowning of two children in Budha Dariya recently, which led to their untimely demise.
Sant Seechewal visited the affected families' homes and, while conveying his deep sympathies, said, "The untimely death of these two children has not only plunged their families into profound sorrow but has also caused great distress to all of us. It will take time for the families to recover from this irreparable loss, but we will make every effort to support them."
Cabinet Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian also expressed his sorrow over this heartbreaking event. He said, "The sudden and premature loss of the children is an extremely painful incident. We stand by the families in their time of grief."
It is noteworthy that in this tragic accident, Gurjeet Singh (17) and Abhay (15) drowned in Budha Dariya. Despite the families having repeatedly warned the children against swimming, the children had gone to the river, where the unfortunate incident took place.
Additionally, it is worth mentioning that the cleaning efforts of the dariya had brought significant relief to the local residents, freeing them from the smoke and ash that had previously plagued the area. However, the untimely deaths of the children have cast a deep shadow of sorrow over the entire community.
Sant Seechewal and Minister Mundian assured the bereaved families of their full support during this difficult time.
