Shimla, June 1,2026: Senior BJP leader and the party’s Co-Incharge for Himachal Pradesh, Sanjay Tandon, has hailed the Bharatiya Janata Party’s outstanding performance in the Municipal Corporation and Zila Parishad elections in Himachal Pradesh, describing the results as a clear endorsement of the party’s pro-development agenda and a strong rejection of the Congress government’s failures.

Congratulating BJP workers, elected representatives and party leadership, Tandon said the people of Himachal Pradesh have once again demonstrated their faith in the BJP’s vision of transparent governance, accountability and inclusive development.

“The BJP’s emphatic victory in three out of the four Municipal Corporations and 830 Zila Parishad wards out of 1325, for which results have been declared so far, is a historic achievement. This reflects the growing confidence of the people in the party’s leadership and policies."

Notably, the total number of Zila Parishad wards is 1769 and results have been declared for 1325 wards.

"The results are a clear indication that the people are dissatisfied with the functioning of the Congress government and are looking towards the BJP for effective governance,” Tandon added.

The BJP secured impressive victories in Mandi, Dharamshala and Solan Municipal Corporations, while the Congress managed to retain only Palampur Municipal Corporation. In Mandi, BJP won 12 out of 14 wards that went to polls. In Dharamshala, the party secured 11 of the 17 wards, while in Solan, BJP emerged victorious in 10 of the 17 wards. Overall, the BJP won 37 wards across the four Municipal Corporations, compared to Congress’s 23 wards.

Tandon said the results have provided a major morale boost to BJP workers across the state and have strengthened the party’s position ahead of future electoral battles.

“This remarkable success belongs to every BJP karyakarta who worked tirelessly at the grassroots level to take the party’s message to the people. The people have voted for development, honesty and good governance,” he said.

Tandon expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP National President Nitin Nabin, Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur, State BJP President Dr. Rajeev Bindal and the entire state leadership for their guidance and commitment towards strengthening the party organization.

He assured the people that BJP’s elected representatives in the Municipal Corporations would work with dedication and sincerity to fulfil public aspirations and ensure rapid urban development.

“The people of Himachal Pradesh have sent a decisive message through these elections. This victory reflects their trust in the BJP’s vision for a stronger, more prosperous and development-oriented Himachal Pradesh,” Tandon added.
