Salute to the great martyrdom of Hind di Chadar Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji! Nagar Kirtans coming from all four directions have been completed in Sri Anandpur Sahib, a sacred city immersed in devotion!
Education and Information & Public Relations Minister Harjot Singh Bains said that the decorated Nagar Kirtans from all four directions will reach Sri Anandpur Sahib on Friday, November 22. The Nagar Kirtans will be given a grand welcome by the devotees. He said that the total length of the Nagar Kirtans coming from Srinagar, Gurdaspur, Faridkot and Talwandi Sabo is 1563 kilometers.
Chandigarh/Sri Anandpur Sahib, November 22, 2025: Education and Information & Public Relations Minister Harjot Singh Bains said that the decorated Nagar Kirtans from all four directions will reach Sri Anandpur Sahib on Friday, November 22. The Nagar Kirtans will be given a grand welcome by the devotees. He said that the total length of the Nagar Kirtans coming from Srinagar, Gurdaspur, Faridkot and Talwandi Sabo is 1563 kilometers.
Meanwhile, Tourism and Cultural Affairs Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab government has completed all preparations in the holy city of Sri Anandpur Sahib to ensure the convenience and security of the large number of devotees arriving to participate in the congregations from November 23 to 25 dedicated to the 350th martyrdom day of the ninth Guru, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, and to bow at Takht Sri Keshgarh Sahib.
It is noteworthy that light and sound shows depicting the great life and philosophy of Guru Sahib were organized in all 23 districts of the state dedicated to the 350th martyrdom day of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji, and Kirtan Darbars were held at Baba Bakala, Amritsar and Patiala.
Sharing details of the congregations to be held from November 23 to 25, Bains said that on November 23, Sri Akhand Path Sahib will begin at the Gurdwara Sahib near Baba Budha Dal Camp in Sri Anandpur Sahib, in which the Chief Minister along with other dignitaries will participate. Similarly, the Chief Minister will also inaugurate an exhibition depicting the life and philosophy of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji at the Virasat-e-Khalsa memorial. On the same day, a Sarbat Dharam Conference will be organized by the state government at the main pandal at Baba Budha Dal Camp, in which prominent religious leaders along with other dignitaries will participate.
On November 24, a Sees Bhent Nagar Kirtan will be organized from Kiratpur Sahib to Bhai Jeeta Ji’s memorial. Additionally, a Heritage Walk will be organized in Sri Anandpur Sahib (from Gurdwara Bhora Sahib-Gurdwara Sees Ganj Sahib-Guru Tegh Bahadur Museum-Takht Sri Keshgarh Sahib-Qila Anandgarh Sahib to Virasat-e-Khalsa) and a special session of the Legislative Assembly will be held at Bhai Jeeta Ji’s memorial. Similarly, Gatka and other events such as tent pegging, shield-sword competitions, weapons display, Simran and sword congregation etc. will be organized at Charan Ganga Stadium. Similarly, drone shows will be organized daily from November 23 to 29 at the Virasat-e-Khalsa memorial.
Similarly, on November 25, after the conclusion of Sri Akhand Path Sahib Ji, a Sarbat Da Bhala congregation will be organized at the main pandal of Baba Budha Dal Camp. The state government has made extensive arrangements for the convenience of lakhs of devotees coming to the holy city to participate in these congregations. Shuttle service has been ensured for devotees to travel from parking zones to main locations. All parking locations are equipped with CCTV surveillance, lighting, barricading, traffic marshals, signboards and mobile toilets. Existing parking locations around main religious and cultural sites have also been included in this plan.
The resources deployed for serving devotees include 500 e-rickshaws, 150 mini buses, 25 Force Urbania vans, 15 cars, 20 Tata Ace vehicles and 10 golf carts to assist elderly and disabled devotees. Shuttle services will provide convenience to devotees traveling between parking locations and Gurdwara Sri Keshgarh Sahib, Virasat-e-Khalsa, main pandal, tent cities and help desk points. This system will be fully monitored through the main control center which includes dedicated pick-up points, signage and guidance by volunteers.
Similarly, to facilitate the heavy influx of devotees during the congregations dedicated to the 350th martyrdom day of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, two major tent cities ‘Chakk Nanaki Niwas’ Tent City and ‘Bhai Mati Das Niwas’ Tent City have been established by the Rupnagar district administration, where accommodation arrangements have been made for approximately 10,000 devotees.
Other facilities include deployment of ambulances and ensuring immediate medical services with a 24-hour main control room. To ensure smooth and secure arrangements for the congregations, Punjab Police has also made extensive arrangements for security, convenience and traffic management. During these congregations, more than 8,000 police personnel have been deployed under the supervision of senior officers of Punjab Police to ensure the security, movement and convenience of devotees.
