Rs.453.26-Cr spent under Khelo India Scheme as on January 31, 2024: Anurag to Arora 

Ludhiana, February 12, 2024: In reply to a question about the budget allocation and actual utilization of funds under 'Khelo India’ Scheme in the last three years, the Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Anurag Singh Thakur has answered that funds are allocated and released Scheme-wise, not State/ UT- wise, by this Ministry. 

Arora had asked question in the recently concluded interim budget session of Rajya Sabha. In a statement, he said the Minister also provided the details of the funds allocated and utilized under the Khelo India Scheme, in the last three years and current financial year.

He said as per the details made available by the Minister funds worth Rs.880 Crore (revised estimate) were allocated for FY 2023-24 under the Khelo India Scheme. But, actual expenditure worth Rs.453.26 Crore was done as on January 31, 2024. The data of funds allocated (revised estimate) for the predecessor years is as under: Rs.600 Crore (2022-23), Rs.869 Crore (2021-22) and Rs.328.77 Crore (2020-21). The details of actual expenditure are as under: Rs.596.30 Crore (2022-23), Rs.764.29 Crore (2021-22) and Rs.228.06 Crore (2020-21).
