Dharamshala, January 26, 2018: IPH Minister Mohinder Singh said that the Himachal government under the leadership of CM Jai Ram Thakur is committed to provide fresh and clean drinking water to everyone in the state along with sufficient water for irrigation purposes, and government will bring a strong plan for it.
Addressing a large gathering at Police Stadium Dharamshala after unfurling the tricolour on the occasion of Republic Day, IPH Minister said, “A bricks funded scheme of Rs.3267 crore for rural areas is being launched to strengthen drinking water supplies. Another IPH scheme of Rs.1134 crore is coming soon to up lift horticulture sector.”
Mohinder Singh informed that the officers of horticulture department have decided to adopt 3 panchayat each to uplift the fruit grow in the area. “In the first phase, the officers have adopted 133 panchayat of Northern Himachal”, he added. The scheme will be spread in entire state soon.
He said that the government is serious to solve the problem of stray animals, and the committees are being constituted on sub-division level and soon the result will be seen.
Minister said that by the inclusion of Kasouli, Mandi Kullu, Dharamshala, Shimla, Nathpa Jhakhari, and Rampur in UDAN Scheme by Central government will promote tourism in the state and the local commuters will also save time spent in road journeys. Minister thanked PM Modi for the same.
Minister also congratulated Dharamshala as its two residents included as the recipients of Padma Shri list. “One ex-Dalai Lama physicianYashi Dhondun and the other Shyam Nagar resident ex-director Wadia Institute Dehradoon, Geologist Dr Vikram Chand Thakur got Padma Shri Award”, said the minister. He advised the youth of the state to follow such personalities.
MLA of Dehra constituency Hoshiar Singh, Karma Ishe Finance Minister Tibetan Government in Exile, Yeshi Phunchok MP Tibetan Parliament, JP Singh IG North Region, Sandeep Kumar DC Kangra and Santosh Patial SP Kangra were also present.
