ROTATIONAL irrigation programme from Feb 12 to 19

Chandigarh, February 11, 2013: Punjab Irrigation Department has announced the Rotational Program for irrigation for the Rabbi eason through Canal water from February 12-19.

The channels and branches off-taking from Ropar Head Works, the channels of Sirhind Canal System would run on the priority basis from Bist Doab Canal, Sidhwan Branch, Bathinda Branch, Patiala Feeder and Abohar Branch, respectively.

Disclosing this here today, an official spokesperson of the Irrigation Department said that direct distributaries of BML in Group ‘A', being in the channels of first preference, would run to their indent. Balance water supplies available, would be utilised in Ghaggar Branch and Patiala Minor of Group ‘B’, respectively.

The spokesman further said that Punjab channels and Branches off-taking from Harike and Ferozpur Head Works, all the Direct Distributaries of Sirhind Feeder in Group ‘A’, being in the first preference, would run to their indent. Balance water supplies available, would be utilised in Abohar Branch off-taking from Sirhind Feeder and its distributaries, in Group ‘B’.

The spokesperson also said that in the Upper Bari Doab Canal system, Lahore Branch with its distributaries, being in the 1^st preference, would run to their indent. Balance water supplies available, would be utilised in, Main Branch Lower, Kasur Branch Lower, Sabhroan Branch, with their distributaries, respectively.
