This project will play a pivotal role in policy formulation regarding skill development and employability among the youth of Haryana.
Dr. Nidhi's project—titled "Skill Development and Employability of Youth in Haryana: An Assessment through Demand-Based Employment Framework"—was selected following a review by state-level experts. The project will span one year. Dr. Madhuri Hooda from MDU's Department of Education and Prof. Sandeep Malik from IHTM are the co-investigators.
Congratulating Dr. Nidhi and her colleagues, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Milap Punia stated that the university consistently encourages research work aligned with societal needs. He remarked that this research would help make youth employment schemes more effective and contribute significantly to the state's development. He expressed confidence that the project's findings would pave the way for new possibilities in the fields of skill development and employment.
Dr. Nidhi explained that the research would examine the gap between the skills possessed by the state's youth and the requirements of the industry, as well as identify the most effective skill development model to boost employment opportunities. The study's findings will also prove useful to the government and policymakers. Expressing gratitude to the Haryana State Higher Education Council and the university administration, she noted that this grant would be instrumental in effectively advancing the research.
