Rohtak Emerges as a Model District in Digital and Preventive Healthcare: DC Sachin Gupta

Rohtak, January 16, 2026: Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta said that Rohtak is steadily emerging as a model district in digital and preventive healthcare, driven by a clear shift from treatment-centric systems to health assurance that ensures dignity, transparency and accountability for every citizen. Initiatives such as e-Health Rohtak and Nirogi Rohtak reflect this people-centric approach.

Chairing a review meeting of the Health Department at the Mini Secretariat, the Deputy Commissioner assessed the progress of programmes under the National Health Mission, Ayushman Bharat and other flagship initiatives. He directed that creation and linking of ABHA (Ayushman Bharat Health Account) IDs be expedited and emphasized that patient registration should be ensured through ABHA IDs to strengthen digital health records. He also instructed strict monitoring of all pregnant women, close oversight of ultrasound centres and achievement of 100 per cent immunization coverage for pregnant women and children.

The Deputy Commissioner announced that a 360-degree health review will be conducted every month to monitor key health indicators and ensure outcome-based implementation. He directed that comprehensive health screening of senior citizens be carried out at yoga camps, parks and community spaces, including ex-servicemen and members of resident welfare associations.

Under the Maa Shakti Mission, an ASHA dashboard has been operationalised for ANC registration and high-risk pregnancy management. All maternal death cases will be thoroughly analysed, with focused interventions to prevent avoidable deaths. Continuous monitoring of mother and child health from birth to six months is being ensured district-wide.

Reviewing immunization services, he said real-time tracking is being carried out through the U-WIN portal and QR-coded e-cards, with SMS alerts to parents for upcoming doses. Special drives, including Sunday immunization sessions, are being intensified to identify and cover left-out children, particularly in slum and high-risk areas.

On preventive health, the Deputy Commissioner directed completion of targeted screening under Nirogi Rohtak and prompt linkage of all identified NCD patients with treatment and follow-up. Under Anaemia Mukt Rohtak, anaemia screening is being undertaken in coordination with ICDS and the Education Department, with assured supplementation for pregnant women. He also emphasized strengthened screening and treatment under the TB-free campaign.

He further informed that breast cancer screening through Swasthya Vahini mobile diagnostic vans is being scaled up, with a target to cover the entire district by March 2026, along with ensured treatment support for identified patients.

Addressing mental health, he stated that under the Man Saarthi programme, wellness corners have been activated in schools and PHCs, tele-psychiatry services are operational, and a District Mental Health Helpline (82954-74838) is functional from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., ensuring confidentiality. Community health volunteers are supporting dengue surveillance, TB awareness and maternal follow-up at the village level.

Under the Clean Hospital–Green Hospital Mission, all 35 health institutions have implemented authorised biomedical waste management with barcode tracking. Solar energy systems and herbal gardens have been established at CHC Meham, CHC Sampla and PHC Kalanaur. Strict compliance has been directed for all government and private health facilities and chemists.

Senior health officials and representatives of allied departments attended the meeting and were instructed to ensure time-bound implementation and measurable improvement in health outcomes across the district.
