The budget will strengthen the foundation of a self-reliant Haryana: Dr. Virendra Singh Chauhan
The budget proposals for the upcoming financial year, presented by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini as Finance Minister, will accelerate the pace of building a developed and leading Haryana. The budget proposals make extensive provisions for the welfare of various sectors and all sections of society, from agriculture to drone flights and artificial intelligence. BJP spokesperson and Director of the Haryana Institute of Rural Development (HIRD), Dr. Virendra Singh Chauhan said this, while interacting with journalists on Tuesday regarding the budget.
Sirsa, March 3, 2026: The budget proposals for the upcoming financial year, presented by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini as Finance Minister, will accelerate the pace of building a developed and leading Haryana. The budget proposals make extensive provisions for the welfare of various sectors and all sections of society, from agriculture to drone flights and artificial intelligence. BJP spokesperson and Director of the Haryana Institute of Rural Development (HIRD), Dr. Virendra Singh Chauhan said this, while interacting with journalists on Tuesday regarding the budget.
Appreciating the budget, Dr. Chauhan said that this budget takes all sections of society along and sets the direction for the future. He described it as a budget based on financial discipline and dedicated to the general public.
Praising the working style of the Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, Dr. Chauhan said that this budget is a strong example of decentralization. Before preparing the budget, the Chief Minister invited suggestions from various sections of the society, based on which this pro-people budget was prepared. Therefore, this budget can be called a pro-people budget, prepared by the people's elected government for the welfare of the people, with the advice of the people. Today, the BJP government in Haryana has accomplished remarkable work in the areas of health, education, sports, electricity, and infrastructure development.
BJP State spokesperson Dr. Chauhan described the announcement of a new power distribution corporation and several other agriculture-related schemes as effective steps in the interest of farmers. He also described the expansion of the Ayushman Bharat Scheme and the Lado Laxmi Scheme as important for the development of the people. He also praised the interest-free assistance of ₹10 lakh under the Pink Cab Scheme for women's employment generation, the provision of land at minimal rates for dairy establishments, and the strengthening of health infrastructure. He described the increase in financial expenditure for infrastructure development as a milestone in Haryana's development. He said that by setting a 33% quota for women in the process of opening new ration depots, the government has opened another avenue for women to become economically self-reliant.
He described the establishment of a Kinno processing plant at a cost of Rs. 25 crore specifically for Sirsa district as a historic decision that will boost the region's economy and farmers' income. Dr. Chauhan said that the budget for Sirsa district includes projects related to rural libraries, women's self-help groups, Amrit Sarovar, road network expansion, strengthening health services, sports facilities, rural water supply schemes, and employment generation. He also welcomed the decision to establish a critical care unit with additional beds in the civil hospital and develop a strong mechanism to make the district drug-free.
Highlighting the role of the Gram Sabha, he said that six topics have now been made mandatory in the Gram Sabha, including solid waste management, sewage drainage, pond management, and community resources. The construction of 1,000 new Atal libraries in Haryana will naturally bring smiles to the faces of rural youth. By the end of this year, 2,200 Amrit Sarovars will be built in the state, further enhancing the image of villages. Special provisions have been made in the budget for the maintenance and preservation of community spirit in villages.
Describing this budget as a vision for Haryana's bright future, he said that this budget will strengthen the foundation of a self-reliant Haryana. Nagar Parishad Chairperson Veer Shanti Swaroop, Amber Mehta, Sagar Keherwala, Devraj Moil, Suman Saini, Vishnu Sharma, Bhupendra Khattar, along with other officials and workers were present.
HIRD Director Dr. Virendra Singh Chauhan said that the government is committed to make Sirsa drug-free and a new authority called Sankalp will be established for this purpose. The Chief Minister will also free the youth of this economically prosperous district from the clutches of drug addiction and expand education and health facilities here.
