Today, T. C. Nautiyal, IFS, Director, Department of Environment, Chandigarh Administration, Chief Conservator of Forests, Chief Wildlife Warden, Secretary, Science and Technology, HoD, Forest and Wildlife and Member Secretary of Chandigarh Pollution Control Committee (CPCC), released an Eco-Health Calendar for 2024 on the eve of National Cleanliness Day.

Chandigarh, January 29, 2024: Today, T. C. Nautiyal, IFS, Director, Department of Environment, Chandigarh Administration, Chief Conservator of Forests, Chief Wildlife Warden, Secretary, Science and Technology, HoD, Forest and Wildlife and Member Secretary of Chandigarh Pollution Control Committee (CPCC), released an Eco-Health Calendar for 2024 on the eve of National Cleanliness Day. 

This 4th edition of the Eco-Health calendar is developed and designed by Dr.Suman Mor, Professor, Department of Environment Studies, Panjab University, Chandigarh, and Dr.Ravindra Khaiwal, Professor, Department of Community Medicine and School of Public Health, Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh.
 
T. C. Nautiyal, IFS, mentioned that the Eco-Health calendar 2024 focuses on the Mission Lifestyle for Environment, i.e., how we ensure environmental sustainability through individual action. On the occasion, he urges to become 'Pro-Planet People'  through positive behavioral change by adopting eco-friendly practices such as waste segregation, energy consciousness, using public transportation, reducing food waste, and limiting plastic waste. He added that Mission LiFE envisions three core shifts towards sustainability in phases, viz. change in demand, change in supply and change in policy, by collective actions of individuals, industry, and the Government.
 
Prof. Suman Mor, Department of Environment Studies, Panjab University, highlighted that they are encouraging young to adopt eco-friendly lifestyles to combat climate change. She added that Mission LiFE showcases India's leadership in climate initiatives. Prof.Ravindra Khaiwal, PGIMER, Chandigarh, mentioned that bringing ecological conservation and human well-being together is one step towards the ‘One Health’. He added that promoting multi-sectoral cooperation minimizes the risk of emerging threats of infectious diseases in the near future, specifically concerning climate change.
 

Tabletop Eco-health calendar helps individuals and organizations to plan their activities in advance to raise awareness and activities about important environmental and public health days. Eco-Health calendar is a part of the ‘Community Environmental Empowerment Program- CEEP’ project initiated under the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, India. The CEEP is a citizen-focused community mobilization program to promote sustainable practices for better health and the environment.
