Panchkula, November 15, 2025: Paras Health Panchkula has achieved a major milestone by successfully treating a 9-year-old child suffering from a severely painful bone tumour using the advanced Cool-Tip Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA) technique—performed for the first time in the region.
Nine-year-old child from Chandigarh had been battling Osteoid Osteoma, a benign yet extremely painful tumour located in the proximal femur. The condition caused persistent night pain and a noticeable limp, significantly affecting his daily activities.
The Orthopaedic Oncology team at Paras Health Panchkula performed a CT-guided Cool-Tip RFA using a specialised Meril Lifesciences probe. This advanced technology enables highly precise tumour targeting and creates larger ablation zones in less time, ensuring faster recovery and better clinical outcomes compared to conventional systems.
