Rohtak, October 30, 2026: Haryana BJP president Dr Archana Gupta on Friday accused Rahul Gandhi and opposition parties of attempting to destabilise the country by undermining public confidence in constitutional institutions through misinformation and misleading propaganda.

Addressing a press conference at the BJP state headquarters, Mangal-Kamal, in Rohtak, Gupta said the opposition was repeatedly questioning the credibility of the Election Commission, Supreme Court and armed forces to create an atmosphere of distrust. She alleged that Congress questioned EVMs after electoral defeats but accepted them when it won elections.

She also accused the opposition of spreading misinformation about the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process despite the Election Commission clarifying that it was initiated through consensus.

Dr Gupta said dissent and protest were integral to democracy, but deliberately spreading falsehoods to discredit constitutional institutions was unacceptable. BJP workers would reach out to people to counter what she termed the opposition's misleading narrative.

Under the party's 'Save Democracy, End Mobocracy' campaign, padyatras will be organised across Haryana. BJP national president Nitin Nabin will lead the Rohtak march on November 1, coinciding with Haryana Day. The march will start from Jat Educational Institution and conclude at the Mahatma Gandhi statue at D-Park.

Former Union minister Dharmendra Pradhan will participate in a parallel padyatra in Faridabad on the same day, while Union Home Minister Amit Shah will join the Karnal march on November 5. Shah will also inaugurate the Shaheedi Smarak in Ambala at 2 pm, commemorating unsung heroes of the 1857 uprising.

Haryana BJP in-charge Smriti Irani, co-in-charge Dr Bhola Singh and senior party leaders will also participate in the Rohtak march. The padyatras will resume across the state on November 9 after Diwali, while constituency-level interactions with intellectuals will also be organised.

Responding to a question on possible Haryana Day announcements, Dr Gupta said the decision rested with Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini. She praised the government for its initiatives for women, youth, farmers and weaker sections, and cited the Lado Lakshmi Yojana, industrial expansion and efforts to attract foreign investment.

State general secretary Satya Prakash Jarawata, Chairman Amarpal Rana, state co-media in-charge Shamsher Khark were present.
