Khanna (Ludhiana), February 25, 2026: The Punjab Sakhi Shakti Mela has rapidly become a magnificent success, blending vibrant cultural energy with real economic impact for women's self-help groups. 
Organized by the Ludhiana District Administration at Dussehra Ground from February 21 to March 2, 2026 the event is drawing massive crowds daily and highlighting the power of heritage revival combined with empowerment.
Cabinet Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond praised the overwhelming response, noting that thousands of visitors are flocking to the fair each day. Women from self-help groups have been given free stalls to sell their handmade creations, which include delicious homemade food items, beautifully handcrafted clothes, intricate phulkari work, traditional handicrafts, and eye-catching decorative pieces. These products have captured everyone's attention and become huge favorites among shoppers.In an impressive achievement, the stalls reported a record-breaking sale of products worth Rs 15 lakh in just the first three days. 
Minister Sond emphasized that these fairs go far beyond cultural celebration as they are actively generating new employment opportunities and providing sustainable livelihoods. He pointed out that women entrepreneurs previously faced significant hurdles in marketing and reaching customers, but the Punjab government is now fully supporting them with free stalls, dedicated promotion, excellent on-ground arrangements, and direct access to buyers. This initiative is delivering a powerful boost to women's empowerment across Punjab.
During the fourth star night, crowds swayed and danced enthusiastically to the soulful and energetic songs of popular Punjabi singer Labh Heera, creating an mesmerizing atmosphere of joy and celebration.
