Readers celebrated Pongal along with books at Chennai Book Fair 

Chennai: Lakhs of people visited yesterday & today at the 43rd Chennai Book Fair which is being organized by The Booksellers’ & Publishers’ Association of South India (BAPASI) in YMCA Ground, Nandanam, Chennai.

The Book Fair witnessed more than 4,00,000 footfalls for the past 5 days of the fair which began on 9th January, 2020. 
 Prof. Parveen Sulthana, Mr. Arumugathamilan, and Mr. R. Ramasamy gave a special address on “Puthagam Ennaum Siragu”, “Tamil Meipporulial” and  “Bharathium Kannadasanum” respectively in the open stage of Book Fair at 6pm on 15th January, 2019. Mr. Balaji, Deputy Vice Secretary of BAPASI gave the welcome address and Mr. Sivakumar, Executive member of BAPASI delivered the vote of Thanks. 

Mrs. Bharathi Bhaskar and Mr.Mai.Pa.Narayanan gave a special address on “Oru Vanavil Konjam Thenir”, and “Nerkonda Paarvai” respectively in the open stage of Book Fair at 6pm today. Mr. Vijayakarthikeyan I.A.S., District collector, Tirupur,  presided over the event. Mr. Sureshkumar, Joint Secretary, BAPASI Deputy Vice Secretary of BAPASI gave the welcome address and Mr. Devanadh, Member of Permanent Book Fair, BAPASI delivered the vote of Thanks. 

Well known writers introduced books in the event “Eluthalar Mutram” at Chennai Book fair after 6 pm every day. This event connects Writers - Readers - Publishers. Writers Kombai Anwar  and Isai introduced the creations of writers Cho.Dharman and Manushyaputhiran yesterday.

Param, Katheyein Nayagi, Eathu Thevaiyo Athuve Tharmam, Pomma Vacha Pencil, Kootali, Aathiran, Lunch Break are few short films screened for the visitors yesterday & today. Short Films will be screened on all days of Book Fair at the Short Film auditorium./(Jan 16, 2020)
