Rashtreeya Sikshana Samithi Trust appoints Dr. (h.c.) A.V.S. Murthy as Chancellor of RV University  

Bengaluru: RV University, India’s new-age, tech-driven global university for liberal education, announced the appointment of Dr. (h.c.) A.V.S. Murthy as the Chancellor and  D.P. Nagaraj as the Pro-Chancellor through a resolution passed by RVU’s parent sponsoring body, Rashtreeya Sikshana Samithi Trust (RSST). This decision came after the demise of Veteran educationist M K Panduranga Setty, who was president emeritus of the RSST that runs the Rashtreeya Vidyalaya (RV) educational institutions and was also chancellor of RV University.
 
Dr. M.K. Panduranga Setty steered the RSST for nearly five decades and helped establish 22 top-quality academic institutions in Bangalore in which over 20,000 students are currently enrolled. He was conferred the Bharat Ratna Sir M. Visvesvaraya Memorial Award in 2016 by the Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI) and also received several other awards. Dr. (h.c.) A.V.S. Murthy took over the role of the Chancellor of RVU with the vision to keep his legacy alive.
 
Professor Y.S.R. Murthy, Vice-Chancellor, RV University, Bengaluru, said, “We extend our warm greetings to Dr. (h.c.) A.V.S. Murthy and Mr. D.P. Nagaraj for being appointed as the Chancellor and Pro-Chancellor of RV University. We congratulate both of them and look forward to their support and guidance in our institution-building efforts.”
 
Dr. (h.c.) A.V.S. Murthy has been an industrialist. As a part of a not-for-profit, public charitable trust - RSST, he has been steering the efforts of RV Educational Institutions for the past nearly four decades in an exemplary manner, purely in an honorary capacity. He was a rank holder in Mechanical Engineering at BMS College of Engineering, Bangalore, and was adjudged as the best outgoing student. He later completed his Master's degree at the Kansas State University in the USA with a specialization in Flour Milling & Animal Feeds Manufacturing. Under his able leadership, several educational institutions specializing in technology, management, allied health sciences, and RV University were established.
 
D.P. Nagaraj had his early education in Kumaran's School and did his BBM from Bangalore University. At a very young age, he shouldered the responsibility of becoming the Hon. Joint Secretary of RV Educational Institutions. He has completed Leadership & Training Programmes from Oxford University, Harvard University, University of Pittsburg, FHWS University, Schweinfurt, Germany, FH-Dortmund - University of Applied Sciences & Arts, Dortmund, Germany. He is looking forward to establishing RV University as the pioneer of liberal education.
