Rohtak, October 11, 2026: Mythological episodes of Narad Moh and the Vedavati-Ravana dialogue enthralled audiences on the second day of the Ramleela Mahotsav and Dussehra Mela at the Old ITI ground on Circular Road here on Sunday.
Artists from Mumbai brought the episodes to life through compelling performances, elaborate costumes and powerful dialogues. The staging of Narad Muni’s pride and Lord Vishnu’s divine intervention conveyed the message that humility, rather than ego, is the true foundation of devotion.
Organised by the Shri Ramleela Utsav Committee, the event began in the presence of Alwar MP and Baba Mastnath University Chancellor Mahant Balaknath. Social worker Sampooran Singh inaugurated the programme, while Chief Patron Rajesh Jain, industrialists and other prominent guests attended the ceremony. The evening opened with a musical Maha Aarti of Lord Hanuman.
Under the direction of Leeladhar, the Narad Moh episode depicted how Narad Muni became arrogant after Kamdev failed to disrupt his meditation. His pride eventually led him to challenge Lord Vishnu, who used his divine illusion to make him realise his mistake. The episode concluded with Narad seeking forgiveness.
A special programme marked Maharaja Agrasen Jayanti, with Mahant Balaknath and other guests paying floral tributes to the social reformer. Speakers highlighted his ideals of equality, cooperation and helping the needy, recalling his principle of contributing one brick and one rupee to support those in need.
Spectacular fireworks emerged as a major attraction, while guests were felicitated with mementoes. Food and shopping stalls drew visitors, offering a range of items. Awareness stalls encouraged people to support blood, organ and body donation, adopt organic composting and participate in plantation drives.
