Ludhiana, March 22, 2024: Ramgarhia Girls College organised Annual Athletic Meet.  Dr. Nirmal Jaura, Director Students's Welfare P.A.U. inaugurated Annual Athletic Meet of Ramgarhia Girls College today. 

Dr. S.S. Sibia, M.D., Sibia Medical Center, presided over the function. Offg. Principal Prof. Jaspaul Kaur and Ranjodh Singh, President Ramgarhia Educational Council accorded a floral welcome to the guests. 

Gurmeet Singh, President, F.I.C.O, also graced the occasion with his presence. Members of Ramgarhia Educational Council and Principals of other institutions under REC were also present on the occasion. The eminent guest unfurled the college flag and took the salute from the march past. The participants were divided into the sports and non-sports categories. Many students participated in both categories in a variety of sports like Javelin Throw, Long Jump, High Jump, Discuss Throw, 50, 100, 200, 400 metre race and Relay Race etc. Students also exhibited their potential in recreational sports like Sack Race, Spoon- Potato Race, Three Legged Race, Chatti Race etc. Nishu( B.A.3) and Sapna(M.A.1, Music Vocal ) were adjudged as the best athletes in the sports and non-sports categories, respectively. 

The chief guest gave away prizes to all the winners. He appreciated the zeal of the students and said that participation in sports enhances their practical, mental, and strategic skills. 

Offg. Principal Prof. Jaspaul Kaur applauded the efforts of Rani Kaur, Assistant Professor, Department of Physical Education, for her commendable endeavors. She asserted that sports are more than just a way to keep oneself fit. Participation in different sports teaches young minds valuable life lessons, including cooperation, accountability, leadership, self-assurance, and patience, while equipping them to handle obstacles in life. Addressing the gathering, 

Ranjodh Singh said that students must cut down their screen time and add sports to their lifestyle because individuals with greater passion for sports tend to have happier lives than those without such interests.
