KMV organises Saraswati Poojan Samaroh to welcome the new students

Jalandhar, August 1, 2026: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) organized Saraswati Poojan Samaroh in a ceremonial way with its traditional fervour. The chief guest  Neerja Mohan, member of KMV Management Committee was accorded floral felicitations on this auspicious occasion. 
The proceedings of the function commenced with an invocation to the Goddess of Learning –Maa Saraswati to seek her blessings for new entrants of this session. Dr. Sushma Chawla (Vice President, KMV Managing Committee), Dr. Sushma Chopra (Secretary, KMV Managing Committee), Members of KMV Managing Committee Mrs. Dhruv Mittal, Dr. Satpal Gupta, Dr. Kamal Gupta, Suresh Seth and Neeru Kapoor graced the occasion with their valuable presence. 
Welcoming the guests, Director Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi apprised the newcomers that KMV has traversed through three centuries as a cradle of women emancipation providing wings to their dreams. Imbued with a sense of pride, she briefed the eminent guests that the institution is creating history by setting up new milestones in the academic arena and the recent addition being, the setting up of KMV Technical Institute approved by AICTE for running MBA and MCA programs. KMV has been ranked Top institution in Northern India year after year by all leading magazines namely The Outlook, India Today and The Tribune for its various path-breaking quality initiatives that bespeak of progressive education at KMV. Senior scholars recited welcome songs for fresh batches of scholars who have embarked on their journey of higher education in the college. New students reciprocated their heart-felt gratitude for warm welcome being accorded to them through a recital. Meritorious achievements of scholars in multifarious areas like International Placements, Start-ups, Innovative ventures, Co-curricular & NCC etc. were lauded. The talented students of M.Sc. Mathematics who participated in the Astronomical Instrument Making Competition organized by the Ministry of Education, Government of India were felicitated by the institution for their outstanding achievement. 
Congratulating the college authorities and students on achieving newer heights consistently, Neerja Chander Mohan affirmed that this iconic institution has earned the trust of generations and empowered them to reach top echelons of professional fields all across the globe.  She also motivated the young learners to leverage umpteen opportunities available today to the best of their ability by striking a balance between aspirations and limitations. She maintained that in this age of Digital transformation, young minds are invaded with the onslaught of social media causing emotional distress and impacting their self-regulation, KMV is tirelessly striving towards imparting value-based education integrated into its academic structure to enable them to overcome such challenges. 
On this occasion, faculty members namely Dr. Madhumeet, Dr. Amarpreet, Dr. Ashima Sahni, Dr. Reena Sharma, Dr. Ravi Khurana, and AnandPrabha were honoured for their creative contributions to research, creative endeavours, and other academic fields. 
During the ceremony, Suresh Seth, who has demonstrated a lifelong and relentless dedication to the fields of education and literary creation, was also felicitated for the publication of his latest book. 
A formal vote of thanks was extended by Dr. Sushma Chawla, Vice President, KMV Managing Committee. In her motivational message, she exhorted young scholars to combine physical, mental and spiritual well-being with their intellectual pursuits for rewarding careers.
