The Faculty of Law, Panjab University, Chandigarh proudly hosted its 5th Convocation Ceremony, a momentous event on Saturday that celebrated the academic accomplishments of the graduating and post-graduating classes of 2019-2022.

Chandigarh, August 12, 2023: The Faculty of Law, Panjab University, Chandigarh proudly hosted its 5th Convocation Ceremony, a momentous event on Saturday that celebrated the academic accomplishments of the graduating and post-graduating classes of 2019-2022. The Convocation Ceremony took place in the auspicious presence of Justice Suryakant, a distinguished Judge of the Supreme Court as the worthy chief guest along with Justice Ritu Bahri, Justice G.S Sandhawalia, and Justice Arun Palli, Judges, Punjab & Haryana High Court as the Guests of Honour and Other Notable Guests' i.e., Prof. (Dr.) Renu Vig, Vice-Chancellor, Panjab University, Chandigarh, Jagat Bhushan, Controller of Examination, Panjab University, Yajvender Pal Verma, Registrar, Panjab University, Chandigarh.
 
The ceremony commenced with an inspiring speech by Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Renu Vig, Panjab University who addressed the gathering with words of wisdom and encouragement. The title of Professorship was bestowed upon Late Dr. Arun Kumar Thakur from the Department of Laws, recognizing his notable achievements in the realm of legal academia. The conferment of degrees was initiated by Prof. (Dr.) Rajinder Kaur, the Dean of the Faculty of Law. The Hon’ble Chief Guest and Guest of Honour, along with notable dignitaries, proceeded to award degrees. A total of 673 degrees were presented to graduating and post-graduating female students, and 658 degrees were bestowed upon graduating and post-graduating male students from the Department of Laws, University Institute of Legal Studies, Panjab University, Chandigarh, as well as Panjab University Regional Centres in Hoshiarpur, Ludhiana, and Sri-Muktsar Sahib. The ceremony culminated on a positive note, with Prof. (Dr.) Devinder Singh expressing gratitude in a vote of thanks. He urged students to uphold the values of Panjab University, strive for excellence, and contribute positively to their communities and the global sphere at large.
