Khanna, Ludhiana, March 3, 2026: The Punjab Sakhi Shakti Mela–2026 concluded with a commitment to making concerted efforts for connecting the younger generation with the rich culture and heritage. 
In his address, Cabinet Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond stated that preserving and advancing Punjab's cultural heritage is the government's top priority. He added that the budget for cultural fairs was increased Rs 5 crores to Rs 100 crore to ensure such events are being held in every district of Punjab. 
Sond stated that these fairs connect the younger generation with their heritage and instill love for their soil. He disclosed that nearly 70,000 people participated in this mela and describing this as the result of massive public support, Minister Sond announced that if the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) forms the government again in Punjab, a 15-day fair will be held in Khanna, which will establish a unique identity across India. He expressed heartfelt thanks to the civil administration, police department, and army officials. 
On this occasion, women and Self-Help Groups were also honoured for their participation. The Punjab Women Excellence SHG Satnam Group was awarded Rs 35,000. In addition, Deep, Satluj, Bebe Nanaki, and Sarbat Da Bhala groups were honoured with Rs 10,000 each. The Mahila Udyam Shakti Group received a special award of Rs 25,000.
During the Star Night program held at the closing ceremony, the renowned Punjabi singing duo of Manmohan Waris and Kamal Heer captivated the audience with their melodious voices, making the entire ground dance with energy.
